The first batch of my painting tray completed!

Since starting the painting tray initiative I have found it really good at keeping me focused on a few bits to paint instead of jumping all over the place. There has been a few times where I have pulled figures out from from my lead pile of shame, but managed to put them back!

One of the main benefits is that I have completed figures which have been on my bench for a long time, and this unit was one I started on over 6 months ago.

In this lot of Epic vehicles, there is a mix 3D printed and old Epic conversions and a Vanguard Leviathan. All the 3D prints were free models off Thingverse, which I printed using a 0.2mm nozzle and a cheap printer. They needed a lot cleanup and sanding, but now they have some paint on them, I’m really happy with the results. I don’t think I’d 3D print another army unless I got a resin printer, and that’s very unlikely to happen

So from L to R, there is a Leviathan, Shadowsword, Bombard, Griffons. In the first 2 rows are Predators, 2 Command Rhinos and a lonely Chimera.

I converted a couple of Epic Rhinos to make them command version, but they never made it int my chaos army, so they joined the Imperial Guard instead (not that its “Historically accurate” but nevermind).

I think one more batch of Epic and the army will be able to hit the table. I was quite keen to start on that immediately, but of course there is a lot more in the tray to finish first.
